Bitcoin continues to make history. On Wednesday morning the leading cryptocurrency surged past the 12,000 mark for the first time.
The reason: the ever-swelling demand was pushed further by the news that the main US derivatives regulator would allow major financial operators to sell Bitcoin futures contracts.
Last Thursday the Bank of England (BoE) increased interest rates for the first time in 10 years. The pound reacted by slipping 2%, its biggest drop since the week after the June 2016 Brexit vote. The BoE revealed that it expects two more hikes in the next three years, but it largely depends on the deal Britain negotiates with the EU.
The UK economy expanded more than expected in the third quarter, at least according to preliminary GDP data released on Wednesday.
